Cassell Gymnastics and Dance Training Center

Late Fees: A $10.00 late fee will be added to your account if payment is not made by the 10th of each month. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Withdrawals: If you must withdraw your child during the school year, you are required to have a written doctor's release or you will be bound to your contract.

Holiday Closings: Classes will not be held on the following days: Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving weekend, Christmas Break (12/23/12 - 01/01/13), and Spring Break (3/31/13 - 4/7/13) & Memorial Day. Please note: Christmas break and Spring break are not included in our contract so these classes do not need to be made up. All others may be made up.

Missed Lessons: It is your responsibility to make up classes missed due to illness or vacations. If you are in gymnastics, your classes are to be made up in open gym on Saturdays from 12:30pm to 2:00pm. Check with your instructors for classes to make up dance lessons. No exceptions or refunds will be given if you do not make up your classes. No make up lessons or credits will be given due to bad weather. This is an act of god and we are not held responsible.

New Rule: If you miss 3 consecutive classes in a row after January1st, your child will not be able to participate in the dance show unless it is a medical condition. If this happens, NO costume money will be refunded either. In the past we have had children absent from class and this hurts the outcome of the dance and the class morale. Your child’s attendance is critical. No exceptions.

Cancellations: Classes may be cancelled due to severe weather or other unforseen events. For day classes, check with local radio and TV stations and by calling our centers for a message on our recorder. For evening classes please call the center to see if the classes are running. A good rule of thumb for severe weather cancellations is if Mona Shores High School is closed, our morning classes will not run. Adverse weather usually clears as the day progresses and evening classes should run. If you are in doubt, call the studio. No make up classes will be offered due to bad weather.

Class Arrivals and Departures: Please have your child arrive no later than 5 minutes before class. We ask that you escort your child to and from the facility. Our parking lots get very busy and small children are hard to see. For your child's safety, we will not allow them to wait outside for you.

Appropriate attire for dance classes: All girls are to wear a leotard and tights for ANY dance class. Gymnastics students are required to wear a one piece leotard. They may wear elastic waist shorts over the leotard. For hip hop and jazz classes you may wear jazz pants over leotard and tights. Appropriate dance shoes are required for all dance classes. No shirts or sweat shirts are allowed EVER. Hair must be restrained in a pony tail or bun. If your child comes to class without their hair restrained we will supply them with RUBBERBANDS. We realize that this can damage their hair, but it is YOUR responsibility to make sure your child's hair is restrained. Boys are required to wear a long T-shirt over appropriate shorts. If they are in gymnastics, the shirt must be tucked in. No snaps, zippers, or rivets are allowed on the clothing. Children in preschool and combo classes must purchase convertible tights for their class, which we have at our facility.

Class Observation: Parents & guests are always welcome to observe classes. We do ask that parents keep an eye on siblings that come with you. We are not a babysitting service. Any disruptive noises can be distracting to the students and will not be tolerated. Visitors are not allowed in the gym or dance rooms at anytime. NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY IS ALLOWED!!!

Student Progression: We are continually reviewing student abilities. The instructor will make recommendations to the parent when their child is ready to progress to the next level. All children progress at different rates, so please do not compare children.

Annual Gymnastics Demonstration: On Saturday, May 31, 2014, we are holding our demonstration for all students participating in session 5. During the 5th session, they will learn routines to perform. If they participate in this, they will receive a certificate and medal. We will be offering pictures on May 2nd. These pictures are available to all gymnastics students.

Annual Dance Show: Our show is scheduled for June 6 - 7, 2014. This year the theme is "Lights, Camera, Action". Dance pictures will be on May 17th & 18th, 2013.

Private Lessons: If you would like to have more individualized training for your child, we charge $45.00 per hour for private lessons. Please inquire at the desk for more information

Birthday Parties: We offer birthday parties that include 1 hour of supervised gymnastics or dance with the use of the party room for another 1/2 hour. We supply the tables and chairs and the use of a refrigerator and freezer. The cost is $100.00 for 10 children or less (including the birthday child). Each additional child is $5.00 extra. You may purchase extra time in the party room for and additional $20.00 per 1/2 hour. If you go over the allotted time for your party, a fee of $10.oo per 1/4 hour will be added to the bill. Birthday parties are held on Saturdays after 3:30 PM and anytime on Sundays.

Physical Touching: Since dance and gymnastics is a precise art it is necessary that our instructors many have to physically correct your child by putting their hands on your child’s bellies, buttocks, legs, arms etc. We do this so that the child becomes aware of the correct alignment which is required in both gymnastics and dance.
